South of England ideas
« on: Jul 07, 2011, 03:14 PM »
HI I am coming over with the g/f on 18 July for a week. I will be based near Southampton, has anyone got any good roads for us to try? Last time I went up to White Horse (A338?) which I really enjoyed. So anywhere around central/ south east England area would be great. South downs??? Ideas much appreciated!

A good ride out is over to Chichester then up the A286 then onto the A272 until the A32 then down to the M27 and you are then just east of Southampton

Or carry on along the A272 all the way to Winchester as it's just been resurfaced and is nice and smooooooth!  Maybe take a trip down into the New Forest too, can't go especially fast but there are some nice views and ponies to dodge.
