I've got the Scottoiler equivalent on both my bikes and wouldn't be without them.
I really struggle when I ride the wife's bike without one so you'll gather that I'm in favour.

Remarkably similar to a throttle rocker... :016:
Doesn't quite have the elegant simplicity of a thick cable tie!

Just don't hit any bumps in a corner. You wrist can hits it and you over accelerate and crash.

Plenty of riders have come to grief mid corner.

Just a warning.

I used to have that problem but haven't had it for years.
I can only put it down to using large diameter foam-grips which give better friction-grip to the gloves so don't need to grip so hard.
Standard grips are too small diameter for my XXXL hands.

Ted.

Great advice.

More knowledge to bear in mind whilst out and about.

The standard throttle rocker won't fit over Grip Puppies.
There are two sizes, though. It may be a Harley size might fit if that's bigger...

The Scottoiler version comes in 2 sizes - I have grip puppies on the FJR but not the Versys so I have one of each size.
If you're adding throttle when you go over bumps you've got the leverage in the wrong place.
Adjust the lever so it's a bit further down and you're putting no pressure on it when the throttle's closed.
