Cleaning the 1000

I haven't yet carried out a detailed clean of my new Versys apart from giving it a wipe over after each day's work.

Any tips on deep cleaning as an when required as I can see there is alot of plastics etc.

On my old 650 I took of the chain guard, side covers, front sprocket cover to de-gunk etc.

I use fairy liquid to wash the bike thoroughly every now and then, then just a wash n wax, manky bits get SDoc 100 every now and then.....back wheel/chain area get WD40 if bad

The plastics on the big V are even easier to take off. A few months back I bought electric spray gun, took the plastics off, covered brakes an tires and sprayed the bike with ACF50 (after washing it of course). Will do it again in autumn.
