The BBC forecast for Leyburn THIS MORNINGS  at 8-30am, was for a bright dry day. So me and a friend went walking in Wensleydale. We left at 10-00 am.   In the 5 hours that we were out we had 3 massive showers, that flooded both fields and roads.

So trying to attempt a forecast for what will happen in 3 weeks time is probably not too smart of an idea :015:.   :157:

14 days to go.  The (just published) weather charts for May 20 are showing a low pressure system over the UK, with an epicentre over the Hebrides.  That means - rain.  But, it isn't a significant low pressure system, and the barometric pressure is predicted to be above 1000mb.  Let's hope that as the models get refined over the next week, this predicted low pressure moves further north and west.

LRWF Moffat:

Friday, May 20:  Overnight rain, clearing throughout the morning with sun and scattered clouds in the afternoon.  High of 11C.  Wind from the south to south-west at 10mph.  Barometric pressure steady.

Saturday, May 21:  Overnight rain, clearing by early morning with sun and scattered clouds in the afternoon.  High of 12C.  Wind initially from the south, switching to the west as the day progresses.  Barometric pressure steady.

VLRWF Scotland - Week of May 23-27:
Sunday (22nd):  Sunny and dry with scattered clouds.  Locally isolated showers.
Monday (23rd):  Sunny with scattered clouds.  Rain in the afternoon.
Tuesday (24th):  Sunny with scattered clouds and occasional showers.
Wednesday (25th):  Sunny with scattered clouds.  Rain in the afternoon.
Thursday (26th):  Rain.
Friday (27th):  Sunny with scattered clouds.  Rain in the afternoon.
