A good ride home apart from one almighty shower with hail mixed in. Really enjoyed the weekend and it was good to meet everyone and put faces to names.
A big thank you to Richard for organising  the excellent rides.
Ken.

I am still on the second (for National Geographic TV) until the end of the month. After burning the candle at both ends and in the middle, I've supersized myself, my body clock is haywire, but I will soon have a bank balance.

The first show was delivered on Wednesday, passed technical review Friday and went out on Channel 4 last night.
The modestly-titled "Jutland: WWI's Greatest Sea Battle" is now available on Catch Up.

My NC - ready to go touring with all the bits and mods - has sat unused all this year except for a trip to put air in the tyres...Jan got so bored she went to Carcassonne last week for six days' cycling in the Low Pyrenees. She kept me abreast of her time trial results...
After I have slept for a week, it will be time to sell the bike...Sorry I missed the Meet - it's always good to see you all and catch up. The previous Scottish foray was a great jumping-off point for a dash to Skye, a memorable couple of days at Achiltibuie (great breakfasts at the Piping School), and some of the roads in the NorthWest Ted99 has always raved about...
,

Enjoyed the Jutland program ET. Thank you and well done.
Great pity you couldn't make Moffat.
Enjoy the bank balance. Always nice to have one.

Ted.

I had a superb back-road-blast home today, Motorway-free apart from the last few miles in Cheshire which I can't sensibly avoid.
I rode over Hartside Pass and then crossed the Dales, Kirby Stephen-Hawes-Ribblehead Viaduct-Horton in Ribblesdale-Settle. How much better a ride than that can you find? I got 2 short heavy rain episodes but I missed the hail.
Not big miles, about 250, but big in effort as not many "easy-rider" roads.
My TrailRider tyres are now nicely scrubbed in and ready to ride. Very good so far.
I arrived suitably starved at the Old Vicarage Tea Room in Tosside, dribbling with anticipation for another intergalactic Beef and Potato Pie. Boo-Hoo! They were shutting early to fly off on holiday, so all I got was a coffee and  cake.

Great weekend. Thanks ALL OF YOU.

Ted.

Back home 1700 miles later! not all technically NVM but I certainly went the long way round this time! Cracking meet up and ride and the weather just added to the interest! thanks Richard for all your sorting and leading and thanks to everyone else for making it a good weekend out! Hopefully I will get to next years but it will depend on dates we settle on as 21st - 29th May are out for me with work and the weekend of 1st May is out too!
