That's quite strange as over the last few years it's been cheaper to get fully comp insurance rather than third party fire and theft. Don't ask why.

Wow. I got an 07 650 versys as my first bike at 33 years old. I passed my test in June this year. Most insurance companies quoted around the 500 mark, a few were stupid up at 800-1500, all fully comp. After searching for a couple of hours I found one at 220 with Go Snappy, i think it was called, I snapped it up quick before it disappeared for ever. Haha.
Here's hoping next year will give me a decent reduction, as aviva informed me that a single years no claims gives 33% discount with them, though their original quote was about 850.

Cheers,
Chris.

When I had my 08 650, I could usually insure for around 100......sometimes I got cheaper (80) but normally 100 approx - late 40's with  1 or 2 years no claims and only passed test 7 years ago.

Try telling them you do more than 12,000  miles a year and don't use a garage.

You can hear them laughing before they give you the quote.

And after hearing all the laughter they have your trousers down
