I don't use an external mike, just the built in one.

You can see some footage that I took with it on the Scotland NVM here.
It is in its waterproof case and stuck below the headlight.

The picture quality looks good, just a shame about the rain on the lens (Rain in Scotland...how unusual!) I guess that'd be one benefit of having it helmet mounted, at least i can give the lens an occasional wipe! I thought that wind noise would make the sound unusable, but it seems quite reasonable. Is that due to the waterproof housing or did you do some editing adjustment? Talking of which, what editing software do you use?

I didn't edit the sound at all and I only cropped the video to a decent size by taking sections out.
I cannot remember what program I used. Something free defiantly, probably from Adobe.

I seem to be having some real problems trying to work with the film I have recorded. I managed to be able to view it a few weeks ago but there was no sound and now my laptop doesn't want to see the cam!

I use a drift stealth camera on the side of my shoei multitec or on the side of the top box. It's a brilliant little camera, good hd picture colour is a bit rich and the battery lasts for about 4 hours.
The worst part is I have 40 hours of footage to edit from my trip in 2016, nowhere near even started yet.
Oh yeah the wind noise is a problem, partially sorted using a micro muff over the mic.
