Which campsite do you choose?
« on: Oct 26, 2018, 11:32 AM »
I did some research and found the following camping sites near Hawes:

1st Bainbridge Ings
http://bainbridge-ings-countrypark.co.uk/
https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2599
Price for 1 tent + 1 adult = 15 GBP
Size: 20 places for tents
Distance to Hawes: 0.6 miles, 15 minutes walking.
Facilities: Sanitary block with WC's, washbasins, shower cabins, shaving areas, hairdryer, (showers and hairdryers take 20p coins). There is a separate area with pot washing facilities, washing machine and tumble dryer (coin operated). WIFI is available in the park.

2nd Old Hall Cottage Campsite
http://oldhallcottagecampsite.co.uk/
https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=8644
Price for 1 tent + 1 adult = 10 GBP (cash only)
Size: ??? small?!
Distance to Hawes: 1.5 miles, 30-45 minutes on foot
Facilities: toilets (2), showers (2)/ washroom, wash place (all hot and cold water). The showers work with a 50p coin system. No electrical connections.

3rd Hawes Caravan And Motorhome Club Site
https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6085
No tents allowed, therefore unsuitable.  :182:

Let's vote where we settle down.

If somebody found another camping site, please let us know.

Voted.

Basically, I'll vote for the nearest to the pub no matter what, where and how much it is.

Oh, you're going to fit right in...plenty of opinions on both sides of that minor issue.

Yes, I know, typically German.   :015:

I've reserved a tent pitch at Bainbridge Ings.

And for the return trip I have already booked a hotel room at the ferry port.
