Thatís a new fairing...

But if it makes you feel better I dropped mine in the garage at work in front of a load of traffic cops. I felt like a plank!
Luckily you average traffic cop has a memory similar to a gold fish and they forget quickly.

Could be the next bond.

Still in China but off to Singapore next week.

I would love to help with one of my patented and guaranteed "near invisible" repairs but this horrid job of mine means I am too far away.

I wonder if I could do something like stitch it together with a soldering iron. Sort of melt the edges together again, from the back. Maybe with a Talltex fibre glass mat re-enforcement?

Probably not a Bond, flying V., more like an Oddjob with hair. Drops in and knocks one off without so much as a 'By yr. leave, Sir'  :5:

Back on topic  :003: , yes you can do as TallTex suggests and put a reinforcing piece behind it. I use glass matte and epoxy. Particularly good for small hairline cracks radiating out from fairing screw holes.
For larger breaks such as yours Siberman there's plastic welding, which requires kit and there are several diy botch job methods limited only by your imagination. They will all show to a greater or lesser degree and most won't last the next drop or the life of the bike, whichever comes first.
Over here a new oem panel such as yours runs about Can$130/75 quid from the friendly neighbourhood Kawi dealer, painted, shiny  and in a snuggly polysomething bubble glove. You can easily drop more than that on a dinner for two if you're not careful. Better than looking at an invisible' repair and feeling the guilt, remorse and unutterable shame coursing through your veins every time you go a for a ride  .

 Plastic welding link.

You are right, UralRob, I've pressed and popped the plastic back into shape for now and, although it is functional, it looks very 'second hand'.   :003: The first site that I found to get the panel from was asking £174 so I'll have to hunt around a bit more now that I've got over the shock.   :biker1:

Plastex or plastech will bond it together but it will need a respray.
Thats probably cheaper than a fairing  if you can find one undamaged

Stewie said that his repair on his mudguard passed the inspection by the chap that checked it after his expert effort  to resurrect it.       Unfortunately that man's name was Stevie Wonder.  :138:
