Early Versys and the London ULEZ
« on: Apr 08, 2019, 02:00 PM »
Apparently my 2006  Versys isn't exempt from the London ULEZ (emissions zone) , which is a bit disappointing.
I rarely ride into central London, but I was surprised it wasn't Euro 3 (the minimum) given it was new in 2006 (I think I have an old press bike) and Euro3 started in 2007.
Anyone else checked an early bike?

I was able to apply for an exemption based on the recorded NO levels in the V5c. (56 plate Versys)

Was pretty painless to do, all online, just had to supply them with a photo of the V5c showing the relevant info.

Here's a bit more info...

Thank you! Very helpful. The V5C shows NOx emissions are rated 0.080g/km, which is below the 0.15g/km limit. Fingers crossed I can do the same!

Exactly the same as mine. It was dead simple.

Fill in the online form, attach a photo of the correct page of your V5c showing the reg and the NO reading and you'll get a confirmation of exemption back. Mine was less than 24 hours for a reply.

I was going to say that would be surprising, because there were no changes to the Versys over that time, so if a 2008 meets those standards, so would a 2006-7.  The only difference might have been that Kawasaki wasn't required to certify the higher standard earlier on.

Confusion is the year 2006. It is Versys 2007 model they started producing and selling in the end of  year 2006.
