Those photos are tremendous and the tent awesome, nearly a match for Jay's bigtop but much more stylish. Thanks for taking the time to recover and upload the pictures :028:

Thomas, firstly very sorry to hear about your accident. I wish you a healthy and speedy recovery! I will send over some leprechauns to help!

A great ride report! Amazing photos! And most of all you were an absolute delight to meet and ride with.
I second the comment about your grandfather bombing the chippies. I still chuckle about that even now.

I really hope you get another Versys on the road shortly and get it geared up for next years meet.
I will be keeping an eye out for you getting off the ferry!

Is there anything salvageable from the V? Mods or parts?

Jay

Well Jon,
I think the same. :028:
People are more important than the things we make.
One thing is broken now, the people and their friendships continue to exist.

You're welcome, sorry I did not get back earlier.
In 2010 I was traveling in the Alps with a small tent. After a heavy rainy day, I had to crawl into the little tent late at night with wet clothes. Then I had to dry halfway in the small tent. The wet things stayed wet.
The next morning, my tent and I stank like a dead ferret. :157:
It was still raining and I never got really dry all day. In the evening again the same procedure. I swore to myself: I'll never crawl again on all fours, in wet clothes, in a wet little tent.
Now I can "go" to the tent, stand inside, even cook, and it's the perfect place for my big double air mattress, table and chair.
The pack size and weight are ok. It is very easy to set up and go alone. I really hope that I will use it this year, only I still miss a bike. :029:

Thanks Jay,
I'm glad that you could laugh at my joke and did not clean the weapons directly. :031:
Our generation was allowed to get to know each other in peacetime, a good way to share similarities.

I have no broken bones but many bruises and abrasions.
The bruises involve bruising and swelling. The abrasions still have pieces (leather, polyester and road dirt) in the wound.
The scrap motorcycle comes in a kind dealer market for scrap vehicles. After sale in the dealer exchange I get the remaining sum of money from the full insurance.
Then I have to combine both sums of money (dealer exchange and fully comprehensive) and buy a new motorcycle and new leather clothes, etc.
I will be glad to see if I will be able to financially equip next year with Northern Ireland.
