Hello,

New Rider and new member.

Bought a 650 mk2 2011 as my first bike last month. Went on a long ride yesterday around Essex but ended up on the back of an AA truck. A bit of a nightmare. Ended up with some scratched fairing, a bent foot break and a saw leg - when I dropped the bike trying to bump start it. Alternator as playing up.

Would anybody know of anywhere to get parts? or anybody who is brake up a black 2011 mk2?

Most grateful for any help.

SR

Welcome, SR.  :031:

Sorry to hear of the rough start with the bike... best first step is probably to load test the battery and run down the connectors in the charging system, clean 'em up and put a dab of dielectric grease in there.

Welcome SR  :031:

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.
The foot brake lever should bend back into shape.

I want to retire, no longer required,
I want to get by without the man on my back.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Shame about the troubles to start with. Not usual on the Versys.

greetings & welcome.

unfortunate to have electrical issues on your first ride, or indeed on any ride on the versys, however one of the things we accept on buying secondhand bikes is the unknown history, it's easy to "camouflage" certain things. personally I'd run a complete electrical systems check for piece of mind, do you have a multimeter/ know how ?

perhaps this will be of some help
