A spectacular landscape, even if you couldn't see it all due to cloud.  :028:

 Lovely landscapes, Richard.

Too bad you weren't on the 650 to more thoroughly earn and enjoy them .

Spain Day 7 – Monday.

Today had been intended to be my last day in Potes and then travel on Tuesday to the Hotel Sabocos in Panticosa in the Spanish Pyrenees.  :012:

However the weather forecast for the final few days of my holiday in that area was for heavy rain and low cloud, so as it was pay when you get there and cancelation up to 12am the day of arrival (via Booking.com) I decided to extend my stay at the Hotel Infantado for the rest of my stay in Spain.  :38:

So instead of doing the “Potes Triangle” today - I decided to see what the area to the South West of Potes was like and get to the the Pico Tres Mares viewpoint (Point 3) if the weather allowed  :biker1:

The Portuguese motorcycle club had left at 9:30, all starting their engines at the same time, roaring off into the distance like a swarm of angry bees racing down the road with exhaust sounds bouncing off the hillsides for a few minutes.  :138:

Peace and quiet then returned to the hotel and surrounding area. :37:

The day had started a bit dull and grey  :033: but the weather was improving by the time I had had breakfast and got kitted up at 10am  :biker1:

The countryside further south of Potes (point 2) is quite different, more like the Scottish southern uplands where I live, but on a grander scale  :015:

But as I travelled further north again the viewpoints were quite spectacular  :028:

Lunch was had at a pleasant little café along the route and consisted of a cup off strong coffee and a slice of spanish omelet which was  :1:

By the time I had finished, the weather had improved into a glorious sunny day, so when I got to the top of the Pico Tres Mares the views from the top were outstanding  :123A:

Looking back to where I had lunch  :1:

At the top  :028:  :123A: :37:

On the way down near the top / ski area of Pico Tres Mares  :152:

Fantastic :123A: :123A: :123A: :123A: :123A:

Then back to the hotel via the CA-282 to Puentenasa to Lahermida and then down to Potes  :biker1:

This photo was take just before the top of the pass @ Collado de Hoz, looking back down the road / climb I had just come up  :001:

And to round off the day in the restaurant I started off with a small plate of anchovies and local Spanish cheese with balsamic dressing  :1:

And then had some pan fried duck with a fig and ginger sauce with banana’s, which sounds strange but it was wonderful  :1: :1: :1: :1:

Excellent RR Richard.. Looks like you've had a great eating riding holiday. :028: Seems you've learnt a lot off Rob and Gus on writing reports, from your US trip. .... :008:

Gus is the man for RR  :028: :028:

Rob it appears to have been demoted and is only a lowly map link poster now  :138:

 I don't multi-task  :2: :2:

Heavy thunder, lightning and rain here right now. I see a truck rather than bikes in our immediate future  :008:.

Rob

You are quite right  :028:

Real men do not multi-task - so what is Gus then  :33:

However SWMBO thinks men can multitask, but in only one special situation:-
Sitting on the throne reading a motorcycle mag  :107:

However if we stay there too long, we can end up with a case serious case of "Bog-ous Leg-ittus:008:
