Give the DVLA a ring / email and ask / say you are getting a new frame and using all the bits off the old bike and see what they say  :027:

EDIT - Also all the info you need on this web link - https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/rebuilt-vehicles  :123A:

The famously helpful DVLA?
try running headfirst into a brick wall
new frame will have no vin no. old one cannot be reused as is cat B, so where is the rebuilt bikes I.D. coming from?

Read the weblink on rebuilt vehicles (motorcycles)

To prove you have scrapped the old frame you chop the headstock off it keeping the frame No. plus take photos of it and then you can restamp the new frame with the frame no as that is what you are only changing

If you don't have legal cover, email Dalton & White motorbike solicitors and ask them for a steer as they usually give free initial advice.

He won't be doing, the frame will be scrapped and all the parts transferred to a new frame, it will be classed as a new build, they used to go on a special "Q" registration, but I believe they've stopped doing that now and just put them on a normal registration? they may let him transfer the old reg plate, but tbh it might be better to get a new registration (for the same year as original) to avoid any future insurance "complications"  :028:

Well,

The 3rd Parties insurer has come good! They have agreed to pay the rest of the scrap value and have thrown in a nice little  :22: compensation payment even though I wasn't looking to claim for one!  :028:

Lexham Insurance however have been AWFUL the whole way through... DO NOT USE THEM!!

It seems I will no longer be riding a Versys though as I have just fornd a superb looking Yamaha FZ600 Fazer with bugger all miles on it for bugger all cost!

I do however, still have 2 side panniers and inner bags that were not attached to the Versys when it met it's untimely demise so if anyone would like to make an offer on them (They are black and green) I am open to sensible offers! if not, I'll be sticking them on Ebay.

Ladies and Gentlemen, It has been a pleasure and I'm sorry i never got to come to a Versys meet to meet you all.

Take care and Safe Riding! :biker1: :biker1: :biker1: :biker1: :biker1:
