Anyone fitted Pelicase panniers to a Versys
« on: Sep 03, 2019, 10:25 PM »
I am a great fan of Pelicases for protecting stuff. When I had a BMW K75, I rigged a pair of Pelicases for a trip to the Black Forest because the old OEM ones were no longer waterproof. One of my options when considering buying a Versys is whether to get one with panniers or get one without and rig Pelicases to it. Anyone done that before?

I have the ID, USA - made HappyTrail rack on my mk2. Touratech also makes a rear rack for the Versys that can be used with conventional aluminum panniers or Pelican cases.

Never even heard of them, until now.    :027:

No, but a friend of mine had them on a 650 Strom and loved them.

I see that Hepco and Becker also make racks for the Versys (both Mk2 and Mk3), suitable for Pelicases, aluminium boxes and of course their own panniers.

Cor blimey, some of you guys have short memories, doesn't anyone remember me buying this a few years ago ?

They were on H&B racks, and am still using the cases on another bike (Super Tenere) and are as we speak on their way to Romania.

Yes. it was a great looking and unique bike.

The seat was a Sargent I believe. The previous owner spent a small fortune on accessories (more than the bike cost) mainly importing from the US, it had Traxxion cartridges, Elka shock, Woody's tubeless spoked wheels etc etc. When I sold the bike I kept and still have the suspension and wheels thinking they may fit another bike...... :notsure:
The panniers and tank bag are on my S10 and still going strong, the top box collecting dust somewhere in the garage.

That is a very interesting bike Bart, very much the look and practicality I am after as I plan to buy and equip a Versys.
