The Goretex Guarantee...it works
« on: Nov 08, 2019, 11:09 PM »
On my last trip the left Sidi Adventure Goretex boot leaked on two separate occasions in heavy rain, they were 3yrs and 10 mths old, undamaged and should not have leaked imho.
Goretex  claim a "lifetime guarantee" to keep you dry so I shot a email off to Goretex, they requested photo's, then arranged for the boots to be sent to Germany for evaluation. They found the boots to be faulty and have replaced them with the current model and these arrive today...I'm very impressed with Goretex's service and wanted to share my experience.

Great to hear, and interesting that they dealt with you directly, rather than referring you to the seller.

And that's what you call customer service. So praise indeed, and well done Goretex.

I did initially contact the seller but Siding only have the one year warranty....and they claimed no knowledge of the Goretex guarantee.
It's a good idea to keep the receipt to.

Brilliant result Bart I have often heard incredible stories and service from gortex. Sometimes a leak can occur when poorly manicured nails Pearce the gortex membrane.
In 2008  I purchased a pair of Hein gereke rallye boots @180 and I still have dry feet over 10years later.
So they were cheap boots,  the expensive boots were all the crap pairs I brought for 50 quid ish.
I have mates who have pots of money but are to tight to buy proper kit maybe a brit thing 600 quid phone charger from poundland.
Gortex guaranteed to keep you dry simple as that.
I'm going out on my bike.

Briefly, very good. They provide plenty of ankle support/foot protection but as they have a hinge are still flexible enough. Great for Uk conditions up to around high 20's when they do get a bit warm, but it all depends on how much windage one has around the foot of course. There are more flexible boots on the market but they will offer less protection DAMHIK, but a search on here will provide an answer.

I bought a Goretex suit 15 years ago, manufactured by Bering.

It's still 100% waterproof, and I can see it going on and on. A great bit of kit.

Very impressive. I wouldn't have thought of going directly to Goretex.

 Thanks for the post.
