Oxford heated grips help
« on: Mar 23, 2020, 06:00 PM »
More what to do with the connector.  The wire into the plug pin snapped for the left hand grip, and don't know to replace the pins, without possibly damaging the plug.  Any tips?

I've now cut the wire from the remaining pin, just need advice on taking the existing pins out, and what to get to replace them.   It was the female sockets on the inside, not the male pins.

Thanks

One option would be to skip the connector entirely and solder it together. Or fit an alternative connector.

Thought about joining, but I'd like to keep the plugs.  However it's what size pins do I need.  I'm no good with 12v power (yet)

I think they're 2mm pins?

I went through this a while back but couldn't sort it so ended up soldering it, knowing I might have to cut it in the future. Sorry!

If you have a small terminal screwdriver you should be able to push it down the side to release the catch and take the pin out.

There is usually a rebate or cut out for this.

as Stewie says, you can get them out with thin screwdriver, one of mine broke.......try an email to Oxford, they may supply new ones.....
