« on: Apr 06, 2020, 08:01 PM »
I have a 2018 650
And to day on my way home my Gear indicator on the dashboard stop showing me what gear I'm in and just say I'm in 6th.
I've tried disconnecting the battery cleaning all round it remove sensor and disconnected it even though it's in neutral it still says it's in 6th Gear

Is it still under warranty? If so lodge the issue with your dealership for them to resolve when we can get back out.

Hi
I was out yesterday and the same problem has arisen with my gear indicator. I also have a 2018 model, although the warranty expired last month, so any thoughts on fixing the problem would be most welcome.
Cheers
Gavin

i'd still have a word with the dealer, it's possibly a known fault, you know with 2 2018 gear indicators going faulty, there must be more. Ask as the worst that can happen is you get told to do one!!

Throw it in the bin, the most un-needed thing on a motorcycle.

Can't throw it in the bin, it is part of the dash display.  I too thought it unnecessary but surprising how much I check it now I have it.  Anyway if part of the dash you want it to work.  Sorry I can't help, it's the first I've heard of this problem and electrics are not my thing.

Hi Folks
Thanks for your thoughts. Iíve booked the bike into a local mechanic on Tuesday, so hopefully the indicator will get fixed.
cheers
Gavin
