BTW if anyone with a MK2 or a MK3 thinks the thingy will fit and wants to try one, drop me a message and I'll pop one in the post. It will be good for me know if they fit all V's.  :028:

Hey Grumpy,

I'm literally picking my Mk3 up tomorrow and this mod is absolutely on the cards for me and my fun plums.

How much are you charging for the part?

Part of the seat function in stock position is to secure the battery down in place .......  :notsure: .

Thank you Rob, that had not occurred to me.  :028:

Just been out and measured and there is about a 8 mm gap between foam and battery when using the 12mm spacer and the seat is down. Solved with a 50x20x10mm self adhesive  foam rubber strip, (which I will include should I sell any.)

I've done several hundred miles on grumpyoldgit's seat spacer mod and it is loads better. I needed to tweak the handlebars towards me by abut 10mm but that is all.

No more wedgies or bum slide.  :37:

As for the battery moving about, I'm not too worried but I'll make sure it's padded out with something appropriate in case the wiring gets worn from the extra jolting.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Hey Grumpy, are you going to the NVM? If you are I'll pick one up from you there if that's ok, saves posting.

I have one of the best looking ones, Mk3 LOL

Maybe but probably not, (unless its a particularly sunny September, fair-weather biker me ) but to be fair I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow let alone in September  :034:

It's going to be the sunniest September in Wales EVER  :43:

It'd be good to have you there, fair weather or not. The more the merrier.

Anyway, I've now got my bike back and after not riding myself for a while, I've realised that this seat mod might be needed sooner rather than later. I'd forgotten how much I slide forwards.

Can you let me know how much you want for one please. Posted to SE London, thanks  :028:
