The indicators and hazard lights stopped working on my mk3 today. The indicators don't come on and the lights on the dash don't light up. I stopped and checked the fuse and that hadn't blown.
When I put it back in the garage and locked the steering I tried the hazard lights and they worked. Put the ignition on, no hazard lights (or indicators)
I've been looking at the indicator circuit section of the wiring diagram (the page that shows just the indicator/hazard circuit) and the only place that I can think of that would cause these symptoms is if there's a fault in the ignition switch.
Have I missed anything obvious, or subtle, that might have caused it?
At the moment I'm thinking that I'll go round to the garage in the morning and blast some contact cleaner into the switch, through the key slot - I'm assuming that even if I took the switch out, which would no doubt involve a deal of swearing, that the switch ittself is going to be sealed.
