Short but sweet today, but worth it!

Love those mountain roads, looks like great day in the saddle.

Looking forward to the next bit  :37:

Yes, a picture paints a thousand words and I've spared you 995. Because I care. And am just a bit lazy, simple.

How high is your screen? I've got the KLR sorted. I put a V-stream (medium) on but it needs to be taller - the width is good. I've actually started trying on alternative helmets, currently, the HJC RPHA 70 is on top of the list.

i'll reply in a new post addressed to you saves messing up your r/r with pics etc

Now, where was I?

On the way to the top! Fortunately, this time, it wasn't a long way to the top.

view & twisty road with new Armco

Fraser Park Lookout was worth the effort. Beautiful gardens & well-preserved native landscapes. Big views. A few info signs to feed the curiosity. Hiking trails. Go there!

thankyou

After another, strangely still satisfying, feed of travel food, it was time to head towards #3. But first...

more riding,

back down the mountain

then fuel, chocky milk and sites 2b & 2c. Plus a bonus on the way.

bonus bull

the original southside bull - on the road into Rockhampton from the south

See, I told you Rockhampton is THE beef capital. Bulls with reinforced scrotums, that says everything that needs to be said!

That's it, over there, between the palm trees, in front of the tourist information centre. Another interesting thing, and this time a science thing. It was moved here in 1980 after the highway was moved.

The spire marks the Tropic of Capricorn, the sun's, apparent, most southerly point, usually occurring on December 21. In the north, this is the sun's, apparent, furthest point away and marks the beginning of the return of the sun, warmth, growth & life - hence the traditional mid-winter festival of Christmas. But down here, we should have Christmas in June.

on 21 December the sun is directly overhead

From Wikipedia, because I know that you wanted to know - Its latitude is currently 2326′11.6″ south of the Equator, but it is very gradually moving northward, currently at the rate of 0.47 arcseconds, or 15 metres, per year.
So it's in the wrong place.
But wait! There's more - it was at exactly 23 27′S in 1917 and will be at 23 26'S in 2045), and for the first 10 readers, you can learn - there are approximately 13 hours, 35 minutes of daylight during the summer solstice...

"13 hours, 35 minutes of daylight during the summer solstice..." .... at the tropic. More as you move toward the pole, fewer toward the equator.

Clever, 'tho, that the spire moves. Must be on rails. Bull pull? .

 Interesting stuff.

I am one of the younger memeber and as such my gentlemens jewels have not decended to knee level yet, and I would wish then not to, this may be the way to go.

Pelvic floor exercises are good for that, and especially if your are likely to give birth 🤣

Needed to stop the souvenir hunters, but not everyone has that problem
