My little V is crying.....
« on: Apr 16, 2021, 11:37 AM »
I got my bike out of the shed to do some servicing.
Whilst removing fairings I noticed a quiet whine recurring roughly every minute lasting 8-10 seconds or so. It seems to be coming from the left side under the fairing high up. The ignition is off and key out. Can anyone help? At the very least it is a battery drain.
Is she just whimpering like a dog  because on a beautiful sunny day she wants to go for a ride? :019:

Probably just inhaling and exhaling the sweet spring air, maybe humming an ode to spring.

If it annoys you, open and then close the fuel filler to equalize air pressure inside/outside the tank. The vent sometimes whistles as temperatures change. It's a Kwak thing.

Thanks for the quick replys gentlemen.  :028: Knowing that puts my mind at rest and I will try flipping the filler cap next time I hear it.
As someone with little knowledge, I had been thinking that it was capacitor whine and wondering why, even with ignition off. Now I know, shes just singing like a bird about to take flight, lets go play!

My Mk1 was a real noisy singer when taken out of the garage into sunlight or the other way around.
It worried me when I first heard it but once I knew what it was, I found it quite reassuring to hear it.
