Versys fog lights
« on: Jul 08, 2021, 04:16 PM »
hi guys,

I've been looking at getting some fog lights for my versys 650 (2016) for a while now. There are many variants, and I'm not quite sure which ones are a good buy.
I really like the look of them, this offroad/trail look, and that's mainly why I'd buy them.

The original Kawasaki set is quite expensive (400 EUR) and after market parts are cheaper and seem even as nice. For example this set: https://puigmoto.nl/contents/nl/p6468_Kawasaki-Versys-650-2015-2020-Puig-LED-mistlampen-set.html.
Some fog lights require mounting them to the crashbars around the engine, which I don't have. Of course I can buy them if that's what's best.

What is your opinion or experience on fog lights and what would you recommend to buy?

These are the same lights as the Puig but a bit cheaper  :031:

Those connectors and unsheathed wires don't look remotely like the IP68 rating they claim ?

Have you still got your WowLED lamps on the V1000 ?
Just passin' through

I have Denali, big and small.  Small ones I use as DRL; for DRL, I highly recommend yellow, the visibility is amazing.  I attached my lights to crash bars, but Denali might have some brackets for Versys.

@krisnow,
Could you share a link to the foglights you have?
And what do you mean with DLR?

I have these lights.  they have very penetrative light and while I use them as DRL, they also help illuminate the road in the night (in my case as low beam).  Plus they use only 10W power. I ordered from Denali yellow lenses and replaced the original ones.   As far as mounts are concerned,  you can get them depending on which year is your bike.
