Shock stubborn bolt removal
« on: Aug 02, 2021, 03:32 PM »
Just fitting a motowerk lowering kit to the versys, have relocated the pre adjuster, have got the main shock nut undone, is rotating freely, moves up and down etc, but will not come out.
Have tried short sharp shock drift, but do not want to go to heavy incase of damaging swing arm. Any help much appreciated..Can turn the bolt by hand..

All sorted, bolt removed. Applied freezer spray to head of bolt, and poured hot water onto centre of lower shock. Gentle tap, and bolt slid out. Rusted to inner bush. :002:

Always worth greasing bolts before replacing but that never seems to happen on the production line hence the rust.
