Led Headlight
« on: Sep 02, 2021, 12:39 PM »
Well had these Led H7 sitting around for a while now
Cost 16 from Alixpress
Decided to have a go at fitting them & had to make a spacer to go on the H7 plastic plate the the bulb twists in to
made a wooden spacer on the wood lathe and soaked it in varnish then glued it to the plate
No laughing from the cheap seats please :-)
Did not want to bend the spring in case i need to go back to std
Had to use the original Kawasaki adapter that plugs on to the H7 bulb

Good bit of engineering, looks good, just check that your MOT tester will give you a pass, as Mine says I need to put back my halogens or they won't pass it.. although the new GOV rules March 2021, say they should not automatically fail LED retrofits, as long as the aim is good etc..I am going risk putting it in for MOT with the LED's...then dispute it if they fail it....

Definitely does not light up the road as much as a normal h7 but makes the road signs kind of glow in the dark
the main bulk of the light seemed to be off to the left and up a bit so i have made some adjustments down and to the right but have yet to go out and test at night   :-)
Hopefully that will sort it
If i remember i will but the helmet cam on and take a bit of video

I'm Happy with it
More to be seen than see where I'm going as I don't really be out that much at night
Should really have done a before and after but have a look and see what you think

Long time since I rode in the dark but looks good to me.
Irish roads, dark, potholes but on the wild west roads of Co.Clare lit by the stars if there is not a storm #Spanishpoint 💚
