Hello
« on: Sep 10, 2021, 07:43 PM »
Hello everybody.   just joined to get info. Thinking of getting a 650 Versys. and selling my V-Strom.  I'm only 5'6"  with short legs. so I'm interested  to see if members have lowered them. and altered the seat maybe.  and how wide they are with givi trekker panniers on.  cos my v-strom is wide which makes it difficult for filtering.

Yes Shrunkendiddys do lower them and or cut some foam out of the seat succesfully, if you lower them with a kit then you alos need to drop the front forks 20mm and chop a bit off the stand or it falls over. With std panniers its looks wide but in reality about the same as the handlebars.

Probs not get many replies as peeps  are polishing  their pipes  ready for the NVM this weekend .

Hello Colin
Welcome to the forum
I too have lowered the bike with the lowering kit  I'm also a little vertically challenged 5'6and 3/4 :-)  30in leg
I did lower the front by about 20 mm but I did not shorten the stand
When stopped on the flat I can get both balls of my feet down or I can get 1 foot flat on the ground

thanks for all the help and info.  I am planning to visit the dealers if they have one in stock, so I can have a sit on one.  sorry I have taken a while to reply. we had a mini break in Kent.  what a beautiful county. the garden of England.  shame about the pot holes.
