    Official thread 👍

In the absence of an official thread ( get cracking Richard  )for the NVM,  here is a general run through, of what to expect. Whilst most of the route will be in the Yorkshire Dales, we will also venture into Teesdale, in County Durham.

We will leave Hawes on the same road as the last time that we visited the Dales. But after a short blast, we turn off to the Dent dale viaduct. Shortly after we will arrive at Dent station,  the station is the highest main line station in England at 1150 ft. We will have a short stop for photos,  then ever onward on the "coal road ", which is spectacular,  and will take us to Garsdale.

Next we pass through Kirkby Stephen and on to Brough. We will then soon be on the thrilling moor road towards Middleton in Teesdale. We will stop here for lunch.

After refreshments we continue towards Barnard Castle, followed by the Stang forest, which will bring us back into Yorkshire. We will then head of to Tan hill, which as most will know is the highest pub in England at 1734 ft.

Then over some super scenic Dales roads, which will take us through to Wenslydale. Then whilst heading back towards Hawes, we will have a short stop at an ice cream parlour ( as requested by Richard  )

The route will total about 120 miles, and I guarantee you won't get bored.
Once Richard gets the official thread set up I will give you specific details on  the route, road numbers, and mileage between turns. As most will know, I don't do sat nav,so Richard will give all details regarding that at a later date.

Let's hope that the weather God's are on our side, and we enjoy a great ride out.

Geoff posting sat-nav routes - are you having a laugh? He has a biological sat-nav - his noggin!

I will await Richard's routing to come through as he can do the sat-nag routes.

Does nobody on here get my sense of humour? I admit to being a southern geezer but guys and gals we all know Uncle Geoff hates the things.

Perhaps I ought to explain myself after every post in future.

Or even in an "Old Lanc / York brain mess"

Urine extraction is a finely honed and well practiced  art with the Southern posse boys and a lovely likeable bunch they are too

If you have to ask how I know then ya must've been sheltering under a rock  for too long   :008:
