Muffler exhaust gasket install tips

Hi Folks,

My bike needs a new gasket between the muffler and the header pipes, Ive just removed a Delkavic system that was too loud for me and would constantly leak at the header pipe seal. I'm reinstalling the stock Muffler. I have cleaned up the header pipe connection of all the old gasket with sand paper and a dremel with wire wool attachment. Now how do I install the graphite gasket with out destroying it?
Last bit are the torque settings for the clamp 12 or 15 ft lb?

its a bit trciky, I remember struggling with it, i think in the end i covered everything with grease or oil on the assumption it would all burn of and managed to get it sorted but a right PITA
