Life in the old dog still, Indeed .

13  650 Versys ( based ) engined bikes finished todays Super twins race on the Isle of man. And one of them finished 3rd. With one lap at over 117 mph.

Not bad at all for an engine designed over 15 years ago. And still a great road bike engine.   :152:

117mph is about mine flat out let alone round the island so what are they topping out at, I know that they could hold a top speed for miles but pretty impressive all the same.
Now then🤔 where that Hi lift cam, me porting tool, zorst, new chip 🤣🤣🤣

Do you guys know how much power those race engines make?  And how many races do they last?   :notsure:

Did a quick google, first one I found was 87 BHP https://www.twodavesracing.com/kawasaki-supertwin.html
there was a high attrition rate compared to the bigger bikes so i guess not that long

Gus, many of the engines will have been specially built just for this one race. And even then some will not see the chequered flag.

The TT is very very tough on machines.

For 13, 650 Kawasakis to finish this race tells you all you need to know about how tough the engine is.
