If you could keep us up to date on your return journey it will be good.

I will try and flush the toilet when I am above you on my way to Toronto and San Francisco on Wednesday but I will need to know where you are.

Yup, they let me in no problem, thanks to your efforts last night, Gustavo. Under 5 minutes.

I made it to Kelowna BC today. A great ride over high semi arid grassland, giving way to forest once into the wetter mountainous areas on either side of the Canada US border.
Some showers after lunch, but nothing serious until the last leg, rte 33 from Rock Creek to Kelowna when the skies opened
and dumped first rain and then hail. It only lasted about 10 minutes but it cut visibility to about 100 yards so it was down with the speed and on with the four way flashers.

I'll probably spend a couple of days here in Kelowna as my rear tire is down to just under 3/32 and Kelowna is quite a big centre. More chance of picking one up  here than further down the road.

  Rob.

Glad to hear it went smoothly at the border.  Looks like a longer day than I thought you were planning.

How did the route avoiding Spokane work out?  Probably a bit slower than straight up 395, but avoiding Spokane traffic probably gave you a bit of time back.

This was the last leg I planned for yesterday:

As I mentioned earlier, it was a great day, if a bit windy until I got past Mt Hood.  Mileage dropped into the high 40's (averaged 47 and 48, on my fill-ups. US gallons, obviously) even though I wasn't going significantly faster than I was the previous days riding with Rob.  I guess it was just the extra resistance from the wind.

Pictures later tonight.

It was a great route, Gustavo. Almost no traffic, decent pavement, big views, good fast sweepers.

The towns were sad, 'tho.  Closed stores, run down gas stations, For Sale signs, old people hanging on, very few young. The times, they are a-changing.

Yeah, head wind is a bugger for mileage - and noise. I had it mostly on the beam, which isn't too bad on the big V.

Good question, Richard. I think at one point Gustavo waved a piece of garlic bread across the table and said that would have to do. No pic. -(  What a man's gotta do for a piece of bread  :5:

If you don't get anything from Gustavo, this could become a loaf or death situation 😳
You deserve butter than this.🤔
I recommend you keep moving whilst you are on a roll 😎

Whoa there pardner (as they'd say out west).  You had in your hands a perfectly good piece of bread on the first evening we met in Lewiston, yet you refused to allow me to take that all important picture.  Don't start changing the story now...    :192:

Richard, I was going to say keep your day job, but then I remembered that you are now retired, so never mind.  We are doomed...   :138:
