I would give this 9 out of 10. Can be busy at weekends, during the week no problems. Typically no trucks, spectacular views. Gas up in Sedro or Rockport there is no gas for about 120 miles. Note also road is closed from beginning of November to May. This year it could be later, as I type this in the lowlands its snow hard. Latest snow on record. Winthrop is a great destination, lots of cute little stores and great places to eat.

If you have the time you can go on from there to Lake Chelan, 50 mile lake in high desert.

If you have even more time, go on to Leavenworth a pseudo Bavarian Village, lots to see and do and very authentic, IF you have never seen the real thing!!

OK lets assume you are unemployed (retired) and have all the time in the world you can complete the round trip by going on to Monore.

The round trip from my house is 405miles, long day trip, but some of the best roads ever.

I'll second your vote for the Cascade Hwy.  I ride it every time I get to Washington.  I usually start over at Hwy 31, having entered your state from Salmo BC.  It's definitely a destination ride.  The road is great, the people are friendly, and the food is good.  What more can you ask for?

I haven't ridden the rest of your route; but will definitely give it a shot next time I'm in your neck of the woods.

JAR, don't forget to call when you are passing through-PM me for my cell. Plus, I'm still looking at heading north for a trip sometime this summer-if we get a summer, so far Spring has been a total washout-or should that be snow.

I'll be in the UK most of July; but up for a rip either before or after that.  Let me know when you are heading north.
